Liverpool must have wondered if they would ever see the end of the tie against Cologne. In addition to the three matches played - all of which ended in draws - Cologne's first scheduled visit to Anfield, on Wednesday March 3rd, was postponed.

 

Liverpool qualified for the European Cup, their first season in European competition, having finished as League champions in 1963/64.
