* The coronavirus pandemic meant that the Europa League was completed in an end-of-season behind-closed-doors tournament in Germany with the quarter-finals onwards being decided in  7 one-off matches played over a period of 12 days. Manchester United's quarter-final against FC Copenhagen and semi-final against Sevilla were both played in Cologne.

 

Manchester United qualified for the Europa League after finishing 6th in the Premier League in 2018/19.
