The 2017 European Super Cup  match was between the 2016/17 winners of the Champions League, Real Madrid (again!), and the Europa League, Manchester United. Manchester United were the first non-Spanish side to play in the Super Cup in four seasons but the trophy went back to Spain again with Real Madrid odd goal in three winners.
