* Unusually Woolwich Arsenal suffered two abandoned matches in a week. Their FA Cup tie at Clapton Orient was abandoned after 45 minutes due to fog when Arsenal were leading 1-0. The following week fog again caused the abandonment - after 80 minutes against Aston Villa at Highbury in the First Division when Arsenal were leading 2-1. Both matches were replayed.
