						At the end of the season Chelsea and Spurs filled the Division 1 relegation positions with Derby County and Preston due to replace them with promotion from Division 2. However the 1915/16 season was cancelled because of the First World War and prior to the start of the next League season - 1919/20 - the First Division was extended by two clubs. One of those places went to Chelsea (without a vote) who therefore retained their place in the top flight with the other place going to a vote.
