(Plymouth Argyle)
 32  goals

A seemingly small change in the offside rule brought a dramatic increase in goals scored. The number of opponents needed to keep a player onside was reduced from 3 to 2.  As a result the total number of goals scored in Division 3 (South) increased from 1120 in 1924/25 to 1555, almost 40% up. There were some amazing individual results - for example at home Plymouth beat Aberdare 7-2, Bournemouth 7-2, Crystal Palace 6-2, Norwich 6-3 and Southend 6-2 while away they beat Charlton 5-0, drew with Crystal Palace 5-5 and lost 1-6 at Aberdare!
