The First Division match between Chelsea and Charlton on Christmas Day was abandoned due to fog - it was ten minutes or so before Charlton keeper Sam Bartram realised that the match had been called off!

Manchester City were top scorers in the Division with 80 goals - but they were relegated! The previous season they had finished as League champions.
