Leading goalscorer: Bobby Smith (Tottenham Hotspur) 36 goals Manchester City became the only side in Football League history to both score and concede a century of League goals in a season. For the third season in a row Leeds United were drawn at home to Cardiff City in the Third Round of the FA Cup - and on each occasion Leeds were beaten 2-1.
