On 15th September 1975 Chris Balderstone became the only person to play League football and first-class County cricket on the same day. He ended the day with 51 not out playing for Leicestershire against Derbyshire then rushed to Belle Vue for the evening Division 4 fixture between his Doncaster Rovers side and Brentford. That match ended 1-1 and the next day he continued his innings for Leicestershire, completing a century and also taking three wickets.
