Champions Macclesfield were not promoted to the Football League as it was deemed that their ground was not up to Football League standards. As a result Exeter City were saved from relegation from the Football League to the Conference.

Relegated Merthyr Tydfil and Stafford Rangers were relegated to the Beazer Homes Southern League and Yeovil to the ICIS Isthmian League.
