Champions Fleetwood Town were
promoted automatically to the Football League,
York City were promoted to the Football League through the Conference
play-offs. Hereford United and Macclesfield Town were relegated
from the Football League to the Conference.
Hayes & Yeading and Bath City both suffered 'traditional' relegations
with both dropping to the Conference South. Sadly the same wasn't true for
the other two relegated sides with financial problems.....
*
Darlington went into administration for the third time and so suffered a 10
point deduction which put them into a relegation position. They failed to
enter into a Creditors Voluntary Agreement to pay off the debts of
the club and so suffered a four division relegation, to the Northern League
First Division. To make matters worse still they were unable to afford the
cost of staying at their magnificent Arena ground and for the start of the
2012/13 season and had to find a ground-share partner - originally Shildon
which later changed to Bishop Auckland.
* Kettering
Town's financial problems during the season saw them erratic in paying
players' wages, they transfer listed all their first team squad and
nearly had to play behind closed doors at their Nene Park ground when
unable to pay a policing bill. Although avoiding administration they
suffered a 3 point penalty when they failed to pay their football
creditors and realising they would be unable to afford to compete in the
Conference in 2012/13 they resigned from the competition at the end of the
season and were accepted into the Premier Division of the Southern League.
The relegated clubs were
replaced by Woking (champions) and Dartford (play-offs) from the
Conference South and Hyde (champions) and Nuneaton Town (play-offs) from
the Conference North.
