Southern League First Division club took part in the vote for League membership at
the end of the 1914/15 season, although Southern League Second
Division side Stoke did win a Football League place! However at the end of the First World
War a further election process was held when the Football League
increased its membership for the first post-war season, 1919/20.
This time Southern League West Ham United, plus Coventry City from
the Second Division of the Southern League, were two of eight
non-league sides in the vote for four League places. Voting - |
