  Leading League goalscorer:
John Wright
(Sheffield Wednesday)
 24  goals

Loughborough's 8 points for the season still stands as the lowest points total in the Football League, although the unwanted record is also shared with Doncaster Rovers whose 8 points, also in Division 2, was achieved in 1904/05. The other record Loughborough set that season - of fewest League wins (just 1) - lasted a bit longer until Derby County equalled it in 2007/08.

"I'd been ill and hadn't trained for a week and I'd been out of the team for three weeks before that, so I wasn't sharp. I got cramp before half-time as well. But I'm not one to make excuses."
