In what was meant to be a celebration to mark Bradford City's promotion a fire in a stand at Valley Parade saw the death of 56 fans with over 250 injured.

Following their disastrous 1983/84 season Cambridge United did no better in 1984/85 setting another unwanted record - their 18 home league defeats still stands as a Football League record.
