New Brighton manager Neil McBain created a record when he selected himself to play against Hartlepools United - at 51 years 4 months old he was the oldest player ever to play in the Football League - debuts

Doncaster Rovers won a record 18 away League victories on their way to the Third Division (North) title. The record still stands although was equalled by Milton Keynes Dons in the 2007/08 season.
