Note: In the week before their home FA Cup First Round tie with Barrow, Rochdale had been working on levelling their slopping ground. Although the work had been completed and the pitch was relaid Barrow protested and the FA ordered the match be played at another ground. Neighbours Oldham Athletic offered their Boundary Road ground and the tie was played there.
