Arsenal won the FA Cup in 1949/50 after playing all 7 FA Cup ties in London. And all in North London at that - 4 at Highbury, two at White Hart Lane and then the Wembley final. FA Cup results 1949/50.

A serious fire at the Leeds Road home of Huddersfield Town forced the temporary closure of the ground - details.

War-time bomb damage had seen Old Trafford closed for the first three post-war League seasons but Manchester United were back at the ground at the start of the 1949/50 season. But the novelty seemed to wear off - only 11,968 turned up for their last home match of the season against Fulham - still their lowest post-war League crowd at Old Trafford.
