It was a crazy season -

In an amazing climax to the Premier League season Manchester City needed a last day home victory over relegation-threatened QPR to pip Manchester United for the title. At the end of 90 minutes City were losing 1-2 to ten-man QPR but in stoppage time they scored twice to take their first title in 44 years.
It's never over....

Chelsea won the Champions League for the first time despite having their worst League season for years, a caretaker manager, being second-favourites in many of their CL matches and having a good part of their first team missing from the final.

In November Manchester City announced their financial results for last season - a loss of £194.9 million, the record loss in English Football history.

Then came the news that
Wayne Rooney had hired Pulmann Associates Architects - best known for designing shopping complexes and housing estates - to design the shed in his back garden. If ever there was an argument for a 95% tax rate for the rich then that surely was it!

Amazingly Stanley Matthews - a teetotal vegetarian non-smoker who was fit enough to play in the old First Division at 50 years old once endorsed smoking in adverts! Read all about it, click on....
