Because it was the first football match ever to be played at Buckingham Palace. The Duke of Cambridge - Prince William - who as President of the Football Association arranged the match in his back garden as part of the FA's 150th anniversary celebrations. At the half time break Palace footmen brought the players their oranges and water on silver salvers to add to the unique occasion - now you never see that at the Den on a Saturday afternoon!
