*  The home match against Everton on Saturday November 26th 1904 was abandoned after 76 minutes due to fog when the visitors were leading 3-1 - match void. The abandonment probably cost Everton the League championship. When the match was replayed Everton were beaten 2-1 - if the original match had been completed (and if the scoreline had remained the same), Everton would have pipped Newcastle to the title by a point. Instead Everton finished runners-up. Abandoned matches.
