Despite worsening thick fog the crowd at the Newport County v QPR match weren't going to let the match be abandoned - abandoned matches.

In their first season in the Football League Bournemouth were expected to start their FA Cup campaign at the Preliminary Round stage where they were drawn away to the Portsea Gas Company. To reach even the First Round of the FA Cup they would have had to play through seven qualifying rounds. Instead they withdrew from the competition!
