Leading League goalscorer: Cyril Pearce (Swansea Town) 35 goals A young player named Stanley Matthews made his League debut for Stoke City against Bury at Gigg Lane on Saturday March 19th 1932. He made his last League appearance for the same club in 1965, just days after his 50th birthday.
