Leading League goalscorer:
Ted Drake
 (Arsenal)
 42  goals

Arsenal became only the second club (after Huddersfield Town) to win a hat-trick of consecutive League championships.

Middlesbrough defender Robert Stuart holds the unenviable League record for most own-goals in a season with 5 in the clubs' 1934/35 First Division campaign. Ironically he made a total of 247 League appearances for Teesside club but only managed 2 goals at the right end!

Stoke full-back Bob McGrory retired as a player at the end of the season at the age of 43 - having played in every one of Stoke's 42 League matches that season.
