      PREMIER LEAGUE    2003/04

Leading League goalscorer:
Thierry Henry
(Arsenal)
 30  goals

Arsenal became the first club in modern times (and only the third club ever) to complete a season of League matches unbeaten. Only Preston North End (in the first League season of 1888/89) and Liverpool (Division 2 in 1893/94) had previously achieved this.

In January 2004 Rio Ferdinand started an eight month ban from football for failing to take a drug test.
(Crime and Punishment)

The ban meant that England international Ferdinand missed the European Championships  played in Portugal and surprisingly won by Greece.
