* Wimbledon had the unusual distinction of playing in two abandoned Premier League fixtures in 1997/98, both due to floodlight failure.

The away match at Derby on Wednesday August 13th - it was Derby's first Premier League match at their new Pride Park ground - was abandoned by ref Uriah Rennie when the lights failed after 11 minutes of the second half. Wimbledon were 2-1 down at the time - match void.

The home Premier League match against Arsenal on Monday December 22nd 1997 was abandoned by referee Dermot Gallagher moments after the start of the second half. A power failure pitched Selhurst Park into darkness with the score 0-0 - match void. It was later found that the floodlights were sabotaged by a Far Eastern betting syndicate - floodlights.
