Finishing second to bottom of  League 2 Notts County were relegated to non-league football for the first time since the League was founded in 1888. Their proud boast of being the oldest Football League club in the world would sadly be on hold for a while at least.  Also relegated were Yeovil Town and their places were taken by Vanarama National League promoted clubs Leyton Orient and Salford City -  2018/19 National League table and play-off results.    Notts County won their place back in the Football League at the end of the 2022/23 season after defeating Chesterfield in the National League Play-Off final at Wembley - 2022/23 National League table and play-off details.
